The Director of Human Resources, North America will be responsible for managing and leading the overall Human Resources function within North America by developing HR strategies and implementing policies and programs to support the overall growth and profitability goals of the organization. The incumbent will serve as a strategic business partner with local divisional management, while maintaining compliance with corporate wide HR policies and initiatives. Director of Human Resources - HR


  • Organizational Development: Partner with line functions to deliver a full spectrum of strategic and tactical HR support and programs to achieve maximum Organizational performance and efficiencies

  • Employee Relations: consult managers and employees on all aspects of employee-related issues, policies & procedures, misconduct, investigations, terminations, review of appealed terminations, reorganizations, claims, etc.

  • Talent & Performance Management: provide advice and counsel to managers and employees on all performance related issues to include: key talent, succession planning, bonus management, performance & appraisal management and terminations

  • Compensation & Benefits: understand compensation and benefit needs and partner with the US HR Operations team in developing and executing compensation and benefit programs

  • Recruitment: understand organization staffing needs and partner with US staffing team to develop recruiting strategies

  • Training: Understand the training/development needs of the organization, secure appropriate training and work with Learning and Development as appropriate

  • Health and Safety: partner with the Health and Safety team to support programs including Workers Compensation

  • Perform all work activities in compliance with Company policies, Code of Conduct, local procedures and regulations

Additional duties and responsibilities for this research role include:

  • Develop policies and direct and coordinate human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training and employee services

  • Leads annual performance appraisal process of staff

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and obligations relating to employment, investigating and following-up on all accidents, complaints and violations from employees

  • Draft and review job descriptions to ensure overall consistency of performance for positions

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of people programs to ensure the attraction, development and retention of high caliber people

  • Develop and maintain recognition programs to improve communication, motivation and acknowledgement of personnel

  • Manage, train and develop staff

Director of Human Resources - HR


  • 10+ years of HR experience, with 2+ years' experience in a regulatory compliant manufacturing environment preferred

  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification, preferred

  • Experience in a matrixed, regulatory industry, preferred

  • Familiarity with ADP HRIS/Payroll and Success Factors, preferred

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office and Outlook

  • Must be able to demonstrate tact, discretion and sound business judgement

  • Ability to travel as needed
