Immucor is seeking a Development Scientist II for our Research & Development group. The Development Scientist II performs a variety of tasks associated with the development of new products, assays and manufacturing processes, the investigation into and implementation of product and process changes, and the transfer of new products and processes to the manufacturing departments. Research & Development Scientist II - IVD Assay Development
Responsibilities
As a Development Scientist II,responsibilities include:
Performing activities associated with the development of new products, new assays, and new manufacturing processes.
Performing manual and automated blood bank tests as part of assay and product development.
Maintain laboratory notebook for documentation of studies.
Ability to statistically analyze data.
Ability to develop testing strategies (DOE).
Preparation of presentations and the ability to present data to upper management.
Prepare plans, protocols, reports to support the development of products/assays.
Understanding of data generated and the ability to recognize next steps in the development process.
Performing routine laboratory operations tasks with minimal supervision including but not limited to instrument maintenance, sample receipt and tracking, and inventory management.
Ensuring deliverables are achieved in according to the project plan.

Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with a high level of attention to detail, an understanding of the importance of design control, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, chemistry, immunology, or a related field; Masters is a plus, but not required
ASCP certified Medical Technologist (MT) or Specialist in Blood Banker (SBB) preferred
Fifth year college or university program certificate, preferred
Understanding and demonstrated ability to operate under design control
Four (4) years of assay/IVD development experience
Experience with flow cytometry, preferred
Experience in transfusion medicine or working with biological materials preferred but not required
Knowledge and practice of GMP and GLP, highly desirable
Adequate vision to read and interpret test tube reactions
